Tempered Backlite & Door Glass
Toughened safety glass for rear windows, door windows and side glass, made on horizontal tempering furnaces.
Strength where it matters
Tempered glass is heated close to its softening point and then cooled rapidly with air. This puts the surface under compression, making the glass several times stronger than ordinary glass of the same thickness.
If it does break, tempered glass crumbles into small, blunt pieces instead of sharp shards. That is why it is the standard choice for backlites (rear windows), door glass, quarter glass and sidelites.

Produced flat or bent to the vehicle’s curvature on our horizontal tempering furnaces.

Holes, notches and edge work for hinges, channels and fittings are done before tempering.
